Part of the fun is doing the work yourself. We spent more time on the driver side floor pan trying to get the seat platform out without destroying it. After a quick web search for a set of new ones, I thought $129 shipped was a better value than hours wasted on the passenger side; it came out much faster.

Thanks! You are correct. Saturday was the first time since he picked it up that our schedules would mesh. This was the part he needed the most help with. He's planning to button the pans and dash up on his own.

Default Update JAN 2014

Sadly, not much to report. My mod money had to be diverted.

Unfortunately, the transmission in my Dakota bit the dust in November which prompted a rebuild. So while the trans was out, it seemed like a good time to freshen up the motor considering it too was getting closer to the 200k mark. I picked up the trans on New Year's Eve and its in my friend's shop. It has been upgraded to handle up to 700hp and fitted with a 2800 stall convertor. My long block should be shipped sometime this month. Its a 408/6.7 Magnum (360 based stroker) that is rated at 475hp and 500tq. For reference, the stock 360/5.9 Magnum that came in my truck was rated at 250hp and 345tq. I'm told it should make roughly 350rwhp and 370rwtq in my Dakota.

In September, I had a pair of OEM Dakota R/T wheels widened to 17x11 and fitted with 325 width drag radials; I'm hoping they will help me keep it between the ditches.

I'm planning to assist with the install and hope to take pics as we go which I will gladly share in a different thread.

I hope all is well with my JAM friends. Miss you guys.
